2018 Overview

Over 50 golfers participated in the 6th Annual Unified Challenge, including 18 teenagers The First Tee, 12 wounded veterans, and 12 Special Olympics athletes, who traveled to Washington, DC, from all over the country to compete.

Upon arrival on Sunday, the group kicked off an exciting week with a welcome picnic and team-building exercises.
June 25, 2018
Organized into unified foursomes, the golfers teamed up with PGA TOUR professionals in the Brighspot Pro-Am. The tournament marked the start of the 2018 Quicken Loans National at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm.
June 26, 2018
Tuesday was a day of exploration. The First Tee and Special Olympics traveled to Brightspot headquarters in the morning and learned about the company and its mission. After lunch, the golfers toured the museums and monuments in downtown D.C.
June 27, 2018
The golfers returned to the course on Wednesday, this time at Creighton Farms, where they competed in a team match play event. Later that evening, the group gathered at Top Golf for some friendly competition.
June 28, 2018
After playing alongside PGA Professionals like Jason Gore, Joaquin Niemann and Ben Crane on Monday, the players returned to TPC Potomac to cheer on their teammates during the first round of the Quicken Loans National.
